Why choose ethical elephant sanctuaries?

Ethical elephant sanctuaries are becoming increasingly popular in Thailand and other countries because of their respectful and sustainable approach to interacting with elephants. These sanctuaries differ from zoos and places that offer elephant trekking in that their priority is the well-being of the animals and supporting their natural behavior. In ethical sanctuaries, elephants are free to roam, bathe in their ponds and socialize without being constantly forced to entertain tourists. For visitors, these sites provide an opportunity to learn about elephants in a real and responsible way, supporting conservation efforts, not harming them. Ethical sanctuaries therefore not only better respect the natural needs of elephants, but also contribute to the education of local communities and the protection of wild elephants.
